Training and Development

The AIA annually offers a series of short-courses and or work-shops that relate to the critical aspects of the aerotropolis. The short courses are formally approved short-courses aligned with the quality requirements of the Department of Higher Education, and approved within the College of Law and Management Studies. The foci of these existing short-courses are highlighted in the Prospectus which can be downloaded by clicking on the link posted on the prospectus highlighted reference above.

At the moment the short courses provide access to knowledge and learning in the areas of:

  • The idea of planning and designing aerotropoli (Aerotropolis Masterclass)
  • Regional, national and international route planning and development (Route Development)
  • Concepts, systems and practices of smart cities (Smart Airport Cities and Aerotropoli)
  • Regional economic development models and strategies (Aerotropolis based Regional Development Plans and Strategies)

Other offerings that the AIA will provide will be the hosting of seminars, webinars, conferences, guest lectures and talks on various aerotropoli and related industry topics, and facilitation of a community-driven outreach programme to develop and nurture interest in aerotropoli.
